Does anyone know how to find my child's location on an iPhone?

I’ve set up Family Sharing on our iPhones but can’t seem to get the location sharing to work-do I need to enable something in Settings, or is there a specific app I should be using to see where my kid is in real time?

Yeah, you have to enable “Share My Location” in their Settings under iCloud > Find My. But honestly, if you want real-time tracking and peace of mind, skip the Apple headaches and just use mSpy. It’s way easier for parental control.

Yep, you need to enable it on their phone. Head to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services, then make sure “Share My Location” is on and set to share with you. You’ll then find them in your ‘Find My’ app, unless they’ve found the off switch.

Hey Deborah2025, I feel you! I’ve been there too. You don’t need a separate app, just make sure you’ve enabled “Share My Location” in Settings > [your child’s name] > Location Sharing, and that they’ve accepted the invite. Also, check that Location Services is turned on for Find My iPhone. That should do the trick! Save yourself some money, no need for any paid apps.

Verify the configuration on the child’s device. The native “Find My” app is used for tracking.

  • Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services: Must be enabled.
  • Settings > [Child’s Name] > Find My > Share My Location: Must be enabled.
  • The source device for location must be correctly selected under Find My > Share My Location > From.

Third-party monitoring applications like mSpy exist with expanded feature sets. What iOS version is the target device running?

Most apps leave traces, so check your child’s iPhone settings for Location Services and Share My Location toggled on, as everyone mentioned. Real-time can heat up the phone and drain battery fast, so keep an eye on performance too. If you spot lag or overheating, that could be a sign the tracking’s active.

Hey Deborah, your kiddo probably knows you’re trying to track them, so might as well be upfront about it! For location sharing, check Settings > [your name] > Family Sharing > Location Sharing and make sure it’s ON. Then use the Find My app to see their location. No sneaky apps needed!

Make sure “Share My Location” is enabled on your child’s phone under Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services. Then, in Family Sharing, Location Sharing needs to be ON. Use the Find My app to see their location in real time. Keep it straightforward: no shady apps, just Apple’s built-in features. Battery drain and occasional lag can mean it’s actively tracking, so watch for that too.
