Has anyone set up parental control for WhatsApp on Android?

I’m getting a bit worried about my kid’s WhatsApp usage and I’m trying to figure out how to limit their access to certain features or monitor their activity without being too invasive - I’ve heard Android has some built-in parental control features, but not sure if they work with WhatsApp specifically.

Honestly, Android’s built-in parental controls don’t really cut it for WhatsApp—it’s way too easy for kids to get around. If you actually want to know what’s going on, mSpy is the best tool for monitoring WhatsApp activity. Trust me, not being “invasive” doesn’t help anyone when your kid might be at risk.

Been there. For WhatsApp on Android, Digital Wellbeing lets you set time limits – it’s built-in and free. Google Family Link also works for overall screen time and app installs, also free, slightly more setup. Neither lets you read messages; for monitoring activity, an app is rarely the full solution – talk to them.
