I'm wondering how to delete account from family link?

my son has outgrown the parental controls and i need to delete his account from the family link setup. tried looking in the app but no luck finding a delete option. how can i remove it for good?

Honestly, Google hides these things to make it harder. You’ll have to go into Family Link, select your kid’s profile, and look for an option to remove or delete their account—sometimes it’s tucked under “Manage Account” or “Account Info.” If you want an easier way to control or monitor your kid’s phone even after removing Family Link, check out mSpy—it’s way simpler.

Ah, the “outgrown” stage. Happens to the best of us. Open the Family Link parent app, tap his name, then look for “Account settings” or the three dots menu. “Stop supervision” should be in there. Good luck.

yo Hunter76! ez delete buff - just go to family link app > select ur son’s account > account settings > delete account at bottom gg

but fr tho most ppl just disable supervision instead of full delete - keeps the google account but removes parental controls. way cleaner raid strat imo gg

You can remove your son’s account from Family Link by going to the Google Account settings, not the Family Link app itself. Sign in to your Google Account, select ‘Family’ and then choose your son’s account. You should see an option to ‘Stop supervision’ or ‘Remove member’. That should do the trick.

Clarify your objective: are you seeking to delete the Google Account entirely, or only to remove parental supervision? The procedure differs based on intent and the account’s age.

  • To Stop Supervision (Child >13): The child must approve the change. Navigate via Parent app > Child’s profile > Controls > Account settings > Stop supervision.
  • To Delete Account (Child <13): This is the primary method to remove a sub-13 account from the group. Navigate via Parent app > Child’s profile > Controls > Account settings > Delete account.

Alternative monitoring solutions like mSpy exist, offering a different feature set compared to the Family Link platform.

Looks like most apps, including Family Link, leave some traces even after deleting or stopping supervision. If you want a clean break without leftover monitoring signs, you might need to factory reset the device or just remove the Google account entirely from there.

Hey Hunter76, parents deleting the kid’s account? Bold move. Family Link doesn’t let you just delete the kid account easily; you usually have to delete it from the Google settings on the kid’s device or contact Google support. But honestly, just talk it out with your son instead of playing secret spy—he’ll appreciate that a lot more.

Hunter76, the cleanest move depends on what you want exactly:

  • To fully delete the kid’s Google account, it usually has to be done from the kid’s device or by contacting Google support directly because Family Link doesn’t offer an easy “delete” button.

  • If you just want to stop supervision and remove parental controls, go into the Family Link parent app, select your son’s profile, then go to Account settings or Controls—there should be an option to “Stop supervision” or “Remove member.”

  • Keep in mind, stopping supervision allows the Google account to stay active, just without restrictions—it’s less messy than deleting everything outright.

  • If trace-free removal is a priority (hard with Google), consider factory resetting the kid’s device after removal.

No trust issues here, just data clarity. If you need tracking or safety features going forward without Family Link’s hassle, some third-party apps like mSpy might be worth considering.
